All We Need is Faith

“By an act of faith, Abel brought a better sacrifice to God than Cain. It was what he believed, not what he brought that made the difference.” Hebrews 11:4 (The Message)

FAITH!  It is the basis of our salvation.  Without faith we cannot even begin to please God (Heb. 11:6).  Without faith there is no victory in our lives (1 John 5:4).  It is by faith that we overcome, and it’s through faith that our work in the Kingdom is effective.

The problem is that the enemy is out to destroy our faith.  If he can get us to focus on the issues of our lives or the yet unfulfilled promises, or if he can attack us through circumstances and cause us to drop our shield of faith in the heat of battle, then he has won.

The heroes of faith mentioned in Hebrews 11 were no different than you or me (James 5:17).  Some embraced the reality of their faith, while others died not having received the promise.  But according to Heb. 11:4, it’s not the fulfillment that matters to God or counts to our eternal credit. It’s how much we BELIEVED Him!  Did our faith not only stand the test but grow and develop in the process?

Have you dropped your shield of faith anywhere along the way?  Pick it up again, Saints, and believe.  Our God is for us!
