God Wants to Bless Us

“The Lord their God is with them; the shout of the King is among them.”  Numbers 23:21

This declaration came over the nation of Israel when all of their enemies were doing their best to curse and defeat them.  The prophet Balaam, under the influence of the Holy Spirit said to Balak, King of Moab, “I could not curse Israel if I wanted to.  God is determined to bless them, and I cannot reverse it.  Blessing is inevitable.”  No wonder the shout of the King was among them!

When God sets himself to bless us, his blessings will overtake us (Deut. 28:2).  This blessing touches every aspect of our lives—our children, our jobs, our provision, and our coming and going.  If we obey his voice and pay attention to his commands, he goes before us and defeats our enemies, and causes us to walk under an open heaven.

At the lowest time in Elijah’s life and ministry, there was famine in the land and there had been no rain for three years.  So Elijah went to the top of Mt. Carmel, put his head between his knees, and prayed until the rain cloud appeared.  Then he said to his servant, “Run, the blessing of the Lord is about to overtake us.”

God has determined to bless!  Get ready to be overwhelmed by his goodness, and let the shout of the King be heard in your camp.
