Living in God's Timetable

“In the 600th year of Noah’s life, the 17th day of the 2nd month, on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the flood gates of the heavens were open." Genesis 7:11

God has set times on his eternal calendar—determined days for world events and visitation.  There was a set time for Christ to be born and a set time for him to die and rise again.  There was a set time for you—the day of your salvation—when the Holy Spirit knew you would be ready to respond to the gospel. On that appointed day, your eternal destiny was fixed.

There is a time known only to our heavenly Father when Jesus will return. Jesus warned us that there is also coming an appointed day of judgment, when the books will be opened and every man will stand before God.

We so often go through the routine of our everyday lives completely oblivious to God’s calendar.  But he wants us to walk every day with anticipation of what the Holy Spirit has planned for us and the Kingdom encounters we can experience.  Today might be the set time of salvation for someone you know, and you could be part of that greatest of all miracles.

Jesus said, “Watch and be alert, for you do not know the day or the hour when the son of man comes.”  He comes to us every day if we are awake and ready to receive from him.  Today is your day!  Expect great things.
