Our Righteous Judge

Have you ever wondered, “Does God hear me?  Is He aware of me, and does He know the challenges I face?  And more importantly, will He do something about it?”

All through the Psalms, King David records his cry to the Lord for help and vindication from his enemies.  In Psalm 73 David’s lament goes up to God over the apparent advantages of the wicked—their easy path in life and their ill-gotten wealth.  And yet, as David records, “They cloth themselves in violence and from their callous hearts comes iniquity.  They say, ‘How can God know?”

David’s response to this injustice was clear when he said, “When I tried to understand all this, it oppressed me, until I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny.”  God knows!  Nothing is hidden from Him…no good will go unrewarded, no evil unpunished!

In Luke 18 Jesus tells the story of a widow woman who had been unjustly treated.  She presented her case to the judge, but he procrastinated in his judgment.  However, she continued to press him until he relented and vindicated her.  Jesus said, “And will not God bring justice for his chosen ones who cry out to him day and night; will he keep putting them off.  I tell you, he will see that they get justice!”  Have faith saints, and hope in God.  He knows, he sees, and he will judge rightly.
