Rejoice in the Journey

“Blessed are those whose strength is in you; who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.” Psalm 84:5

Our Father, the Good Shepherd, is always leading us into new experiences in our relationship with him.  From the time he appeared to Abraham—calling him out of his country and away from everything familiar—until this present day, God’s people have been on the move.

Sometimes the journey leads over pretty rough terrain and sometimes through a desert place.  The nation of Israel travelled through the wilderness for forty years; although, the journey was extended by their own disobedience.  Selah!

Still, God in his infinite love and mercy journeyed with them, providing a cloudy canopy to shield them from the heat of the day, and a pillar of fire to warm them and light their way at night.

When you invited Christ into your heart and made him Lord of your life, you began an amazing journey of discovery.  His main objective is to bring you home to him, and, in the process, give you opportunities to know him and experience his loving care over your life.  So follow on, knowing you are in the care of a gentle Shepherd.  Rejoice in the journey!
