The Transformational Words of God

on Sunday 24, January 2010

And God said, ”Let there be light, and there was light!”  The words of God are life.  When he speaks, transformation happens—from nothing to substance, from darkness to light, and from death to life.  His word is like seed that contains life in itself.  All it needs is fertile soil, and it will produce the fruit of change.

Jesus said, “The Spirit gives life.  Human effort or will power, accomplish nothing.  The words I have spoken to you are spirit-words, life-making words!”  The Apostle Paul knew first-hand the power of transformation through his life changing encounter with Jesus.  He saw a light, and he heard a voice.  Those words changed the whole direction of his life.  He later wrote to the Hebrew Christians, “For the word of God is living and active…it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, and the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

We can sometimes struggle with life-long issues that need transformation and strongholds that need to be broken. Yet the very life-giving, life-changing, freedom-offering tool lies on the shelf collecting dust.  Or as 2 Corinthians 3 states, “…it is read through the veil of a dulled conscience.”

If the heart genuinely desires change and turns boldly to look into the ‘perfect law of liberty’, transformation happens.  God’s word can blast open your chains of bondage and set you free.  Do you desire change?  READ YOUR BIBLE!
