When Jesus Comes

on Sunday 28, November 2010

When Jesus comes, the natural gives way to the supernatural – darkness becomes light, death is banished by life.  When Jesus comes, the impossible becomes a reality.

When the angel came to Mary with his message of life and a baby to be born, she naturally questioned how this could ever happen.  His reply was, “Nothing is impossible with God.”  When Jesus stood up in the temple and read from the prophet Isaiah, it was to underscore the contrast of the before and after – the results of his coming.  It was the proof of who he was.  When John the Baptist had questions, Jesus said, “Tell John the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.”

Why then are we so prone to believe that our present circumstances are so unchangeable, why what seems like a dead-end could not open up into a new day, or why our desert experience could not only blossom but become abundantly fruitful?  Is it because our faith in his ability to do the impossible is so small?

The Advent of Jesus was all about the impossible becoming reality.  So, take hope and be comforted!  Open your heart and release your faith.  Jesus has come and he wants to bring supernatural change into your life.
